Certain sponsors dropped Lance Armstrong

The USADA released a report linked with doping by the celebrated American cyclist Lance Armstrong. According to the report, this athlete applied steroids and other performance-enhancing drugs. After publishing several sponsors that donated for Lance Armstrong’s charity organization Livestrong decided to cut their relations with this sportsman and his charity organization.
One of companies that decided to discontinue sponsoring the organization which fights against cancer is Nike. This company was working much time with the cyclist. Finally Nike said that it would not have anything longer with the person that was cheating over 10 years.
24 Hour Fitness also refused to collaborate with Lance Armstrong anymore.
Several other companies also made the decision to stop sponsoring Lance Armstrong’s foundation.
However, the American famous cyclist tried to do a lot in order to prevent negative influence of his athletic reputation on the organization that helps individuals with cancer to survive. He announced that he would not be the chairman of the foundation anymore. Although the sportsman tried to keep sponsors, he couldn’t do it.
As for the USADA, it concluded that Lance Armstrong was found guilty of doping. As a result, the athlete received lifetime suspension. Moreover, he lost all 7 titles acquired at Tour de France.
But the International Cycling Union (ICU) said that the USADA made a wrong decision. However Lance Armstrong discontinued fighting against accusations pronounced by the USADA, the ICU affirmed that it would appeal the decision even without involvement of the sportsperson.
Although Lance Armstrong never tested positive for any forbidden substance, it was concluded that he was guilty of doping. It was affirmed that he administered steroids and other banned products but he used several simple as well sophisticated methods in order to prevent positives. So, the athlete was able to dope and remain undetectable.
Now the sportsman pays for his doping. The decision of several companies to discontinue sponsoring his organization is a great loss for this man.
