Rampage Jackson thinks that testosterone doesn’t belong to anabolic steroids

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, a mixed martial artist and actor, told about effects of the steroid testosterone in the interview with Gary Alexander of “Fighters Only Magazine”. He talked about his decision to take testosterone, about its effects on increase of muscle mass, weight of the body and his sexual life. He said these words after his fail at UFC 144 in Japan.
The UFC champion was openly telling about his decision to seek a doctor that could prescribe him testosterone replacement therapy. He said openly because he believed that testosterone didn’t include in anabolic steroids.  Jackson noted that steroids were for muscles but testosterone was natural. So, he was mistaken, thinking that testosterone isn’t an anabolic steroid.
Actually, application of testosterone replacement therapy in mixed martial arts is a controversial issue. Testosterone is used legally in case of hypogonadism (reduced testosterone secretion). So, mixed martial artists that experience this illness may obtain a therapeutic use exemption which permits to use the steroid testosterone legally.
But the problem which is widely discussed is whether the athlete who utilizes therapeutic dosage of testosterone may obtain unfair advantage during competitions.
The most of sportspeople that have obtained a therapeutic use exemption for application of testosterone for therapeutic purposes deny getting any enhancement of performance due to testosterone replacement therapy.
As for Jackson, he stated that testosterone replacement therapy had promoted enhancing his muscle mass, speeded his recovery from his injuries and improved his sexual abilities. The mixed martial artist confirmed that he had experienced a knee injury. After he had administered three doses of testosterone, the knee was healed. He added bodyweight and muscle mass. This mixed martial artist claimed that small doses of the steroid testosterone had produced significant changes in him. His sexual life was improved essentially; he started to feel as if he had been only 25.
Rampage Jackson blamed steroids for his impossibility to lose weight to compete in the 206lb weight category.
Rampage Jackson states that he doesn’t violate any rule. He applies testosterone and thinks that it is legitimately.
He reports that he is glad that he takes testosterone.
