The former American bodybuilder Flex Wheeler experienced kidney dysfunctions. He submitted to a kidney transplant. Since he administered anabolic steroids, the media decided to blame these medications for kidney disorders of Flex Wheeler. Actually, Flex Wheeler had a hereditary kidney disease. Undoubtedly, administration of anabolic steroids contributed to the complications. But did the bodybuilder administer steroids appropriately? Did he follow reasonable guidelines connected with dosages and length of usage? No, he didn’t. Flex Wheeler used very high dosages of anabolic steroids. Moreover, he applied these medications prolonged period of time. In addition to these conditions, the former American bodybuilder administered also other preparations which had negative influence on his kidneys. So, anabolic steroids should not be demonized for Flex Wheeler’s health problems.
As it has been already mentioned, another case is related to the former bodybuilder Luke Wood. He died after a kidney transplant, being a young person. The media also chose to demonize anabolic steroids in this case. It was stated that anabolic steroids caused kidney dysfunctions in Luke Wood. But you should be informed that Luke Wood used not only steroids. He administered also insulin, pain drugs, DNP and other medications that influenced on the kidneys negatively. So, it is impossible to affirm that anabolic steroids were responsible for his kidney failure and death.
According to numerous experts, if anabolic steroids are taken properly, serious kidney disorders don’t occur.
