Recently Victor Conte, the founder of BALCO, shared his thoughts about testing program of anti-doping agencies and the current state of doping in sports.
Conte has noted that it is unlikely that the 2012 London Olympics would be free from usage of steroids and other prohibited medications. The founder of BALCO affirmed in an interview that Olympic anti-doping testing program had different flaws. Thus, consumers of steroids were also chosen to take part in the 2012 London Olympics.
The founder of BALCO doesn’t believe that administration of forbidden drugs has reduced. He doesn’t agree with persons who confirm that reduced performance in different sports is a proof that steroids and other doping products are almost excluded from sports.
The founder of BALCO claims that steroids are widely used now too. Efforts of anti-doping agencies promoted adoption of athletes. Thus, sportspeople don’t take as enhanced measures as have been used before. Nonetheless, application of steroids and other related medicines remains to be a concern.
The founder of BALCO is sure that athletes don’t apply such designer steroids, as THG. Instead of taking such medications, sportspersons apply the steroid testosterone that is considered to be the grandfather of all steroids. Conte adds that since testosterone is fast-acting and it is available in form of creams, gels, patches and injections, it is widely taken by athletes. Furthermore, not too high dosages of testosterone are required in order to cause excellent effects. This steroid is widespread among Major League Baseball players.
Conte criticizes anti-doping system. He confirms that anti-doping agencies have evident ambiguities. Even a truck can go through loopholes that are in doping laws, according to the founder of BALCO.
