Norwegian police officers have busted a large doping ring. Over 10 individuals that were involved in illicit operations were arrested. Six persons went to prison.
According to affirmations of the newspaper Dagens N?ringsliv (DN), the doping ring was established in Trondheim. DN provided own investigation related to illegal distribution of anabolic steroids in Norway. Police officers investigated the case.
It is suggested that a secret center is located in Trondheim. It administrates illicit sale of doping preparations and money laundering.
The arrested persons were related to bodybuilding, fitness and health industries in Norway. Some persons were arrested at their homes; others – in business offices, car lots and tram stops.
Police suppose that some persons are masked by the names of Guru and Karma.
Robert Eilertsen is one of those who have been arrested. He is an operator and editor of a fitness blog. He coached famous sportspersons within football, boxing, handball, etc.
It is suggested that Eilertsen and some other individuals have provided dangerous doping drugs to Norwegian youth during numerous years.
About 60 police officers were implicated in raids. The raids caused 11 arrests.
Since the investigation continues, police officers report nothing about their further actions.
Norwegian customs officers and tax authorities were also involved in the investigation.
Numerous computers and certain documents were seized during raids of homes, business officers, cars, etc.
Eilertsen and Gunnar Strand Jacobsen, another arrested man, have denied their connections with doping drugs. Jacobsen is the owner of Kaliber Gym in Trondheim, one of the most trusted gyms in Norway. Jacobsen was personal trainer of sportspeople that obtained prizes. He coached sportspeople that attended to various sports. Jacobsen is considered to be a high-profile nutrition expert.
The raid was called “Operation Gilde”.
Eilertsen and Jacobsen are charged with sale of doping medicines and money laundering.
